Join characters “Seek” and “Hide” as they discover and explore a colourful undersea world of sensory experiences including adorable puppets, and gentle, playful interaction with live musical layers and a rich soundscape. Performed for very young audiences of curious explorers!

2. VALENTINE’S DAY COOKING CLASS

Last year they turned away fifty people for this amazing experience so please act fast as space is limited!

They’ve come up with a selection of market-sourced ingredients to tempt the tummy and warm the emotions as we join a hands-on cooking class to celebrate this lovely time of year.

3. GREAT CANADIAN KILT SKATE – NORTH VANCOUVER

Things to do on spring break 2023 North Vancouver

The first Great Canadian Kilt Skate in BC will take place at the The Shipyards Skate Plaza on Saturday, February 18 at 8:30 pm. Everyone is invited, so grab your kilt or tartans and show your appreciation for Scotland’s contribution to Canada. This is a free event hosted by ScotFestBC, but capacity is limited so registration is required in advance via Eventbrite.

There will be hot chocolate, Celtic music, and bagpiping. Skate and helmet rentals are available. Note that kids under 12 must wear a helmet (free).

4. FAMILY DAY EVENT: COAST SALISH WOOL WEAVING

Wrap up your Family Day with a special virtual family workshop. Learn to weave a wool bracelet, live online, in the Coast Salish style with Tsawaysia Spukwus (Alice Guss) of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation.

As this is a hands-on workshop, supplies will be provided for participants to pick up in advance from the Museum of North Vancouver (115 West Esplanade) or Archives of North Vancouver (3203 Institute Road, by appointment).

5. MUSEUMFLIX: NORTH SHORE CINEMA SERIES

6. CITYSCAPE DATE NIGHTS

We are excited to offer a brand new CityScape Date Night series on the first Thursday of every month, starting February 2. Join us in the gallery for a creative evening of artmaking with someone special. Explore acrylics, watercolours, upcycling, pride posters, and drag life drawings. This year’s instructors have created five date nights for you to taste some of our courses. Supplies and a complimentary drink are provided.

Produced by Raven Spirit Dance, Chapter 21 is choreographed by Starr Muranko and directed by Yvette Nolan. Chapter 21 is a reflection on the days that have come to pass, and the art of becoming. A new baby boy; Chromosome 21; the big “C” diagnosis, 21 days between treatments, and 21 days to re-pattern beliefs; Courage; Faith; Resilience.

9. UBU ON THE TABLE

A hilarious adaptation of Jarry’s bizarre Macbeth parody King Ubu, anything goes in this farcical tabletop puppet show! Two armies of French baguettes face off as tomato bombs explode, an egg beater hovers over fleeing troops and molasses-blood splatters on fork-soldiers as they charge Père Ubu.
